“Whether creativity comes from a camera or a paintbrush, I can’t wait to make something meaningful.”
Amy Berta’s fascination with the natural world and the creatures within it began at a young age, as young as she can even remember. She has always viewed the world from many perspectives, equally “right brained” as she was “left,” and enjoyed studying science whilst also practicing painting. Amy attended Sweet Briar College where she double majored in Biology and Studio Art, indicative of her love for both ethology and artmaking. She has since gained experience working as a college photographer, equine riding lesson program coordinator, and painting instructor at numerous locations. Her intense passions continue throughout her life as she engages with conservation work via wildlife photography and recreational birding, ecological volunteer work, and equestrian competitions. She also continues to exhibit large paintings in a series about ethical issues within carnivore conservation. Amy uses her unique photography sessions and creative painting commissions via Crescent Moon to help fund her passion for wildlife advocacy (as well as her passion for her horse, Delta).
